Kick Up Your Hooves....CDS Guest Designer Challenge

It is August Guest Designer Time at Clear Dollar Stamps! As most of you know, I LOVE CDS, so I just had to participate. This month's challenge is a sketch...which I love!
I used Charliene Cowgirl, isn't she adorable? She is watercolored and layered to give her some dimension...after all, she IS a girl! The base card is soft lavendar, then layered with the purple and PP. I scalloped the edges of each layer with the SU Border Punch and used the SU PhotCorner punch for the single corner. Every girl needs some bling, so I added the flower charm from CDS and some purple gems from my stash.
My best friend's daughter has a birthday next week, so this is headed to Iowa later this afternoon. Thanks so much for stopping by today, I will have more soon!
Have a great Friday~

Good Morning~

I came across this gorgeous plaid PP in my Blossoms & Butterflies Stack by DCWV, and I just HAD to use it! I always buy these stacks, and rarely use them ( my name is Julie, and I am a paper hoarder), so I thought today is a good day to do so!
I Love this sketch from ABC Challenge Blog, so I went ahead and used it. I dug out my favorite Butterfly from TAC, embossed and watercolored it. I went to my DCWV Glitter stack and the Lt. Blue glitter paper was a match, but the green wasn't, so I had to make my own. That was easily done with a glue pen and parismal gltter. From there I just layed it all out, and it worked perfectly. It is just gorgeous IRL, if I do say so myself...LOL!
I am off to do some more creating! I hope your Tuesday is wonderful! Thanks for stopping by!

Some Challenges

I am so thrilled, I got 3 cards made today! YUP, I think the Mojo has returned...LOL!
This one includes 5 challenges...and it was SO MUCH FUN! It all started with The Pink Elephant sketch. I thought this would be really neat, yet simple! The next was Digi Tuesday, which was to use a digi stamp and a Christmas In July Theme. Another Challenge with the Christmas In July Challenge was In the Cottage Studio , so it is a 2-fer! Next is the use if Eyelets at Cute Card Thursday, which fit right into the sketch perfectly. Lastly, Pile It On required the use of Watercolors. That was an easy one...I LOVE to watercolor my images! All in all, I really enjoyed putting this one together with all the great challenges. Thanks again for coming by today!

Got my Mojo back...and 2nd DT Call at InkyImpressions

It went on vacation without me, but now I think it has returned. I look at Challenges everyday, and make notes of the ones I like. Well, since my Mojo was on vacation, it just didn't help last week. Yesterday, it came home, and I was able to get some creating done. I went to my list and saw the Sketch Saturday Challenge, I just had to play along. I have been wanting to make a card for the DT Call at Inky Impressions, so this was just what I needed to give
me a boost!
I adore the Stamps at Inky Impressions, as I have said many time. but unfortunatly, this precious Lili is the only one I have right now, so I used her again. I colored her with watercolor crayons and glitter pens. Look at those little finger nails...so cute! The Designer Paper is from the Paper Studio that i got at Hobby Lobby. I love it when I can buy individual papers that match! I never use full stack packs for some reason...LOL. I finished her off with some matting and primas. I am off to take pictures of another card I did this morning. I'm thrilled to have some Mojo back...whew!
Be sure to stop over at my friend, Cindy's Blog, as she is participating in a Royal Blog Hop. If you are Canadian, she has a gorgeous SU Set as Blog Candy...and the MAIN PAGE has a Big Shot they are giving away to anyone who plays along!

Thanks so much for coming by today! My Blogaversary is the 27th of August, so look for some Blog Candy SOON!

Oh this one was SO FUN!! Every Sunday, I check the challenge at Stamptacular Sunday
and yesterday, there was a BONUS Build-a-Card Challenge. Each DT member had a card element on their blog, and after you collect all 10 elements, you put your card together. This is the result. ( And I am so happy I got my camera to work correctly FINALLY, now I can take CLEAR pictures of my cards to share...LOL)
Please be sure to hop over and check out the regular challenge, too, which is to make a shape card. I have to put my thinking cap on for that one, lemme tell ya...
Have a great Monday, and I will see you soon! Thanks so much for stopping by!

How Adorable Is She?

I just LOVE this little gal! Her name is Lili's Secret and she is available at Inky Impressions.
She has the biggest eyes! Yes I sound like an advertisement, but I really think this is a precious stamp!

I made this card today with a few challenges in mind. The first being the Spoonful of Sugar Sketch Challenge. I took one liberty by adding the tag sentiment, but otherwise it is followed pretty much to the T~ This little cutie also qualifies for some other challenges: Colour Create Challenge which was to create a card using Blue and White; Stampin' for the Weekend which is Rock 'n Roll '70s, and I chose the song Tangled Up In Blue by Bob Dylan; and finally, The Use It Challenge which was to use a favorite stamp ( this is one of mine), a layered Flower ( mine is 4 layers...LOL) and to make the card Monochromatic. I think I got them all! I just love challenges, can ya tell? I have a couple more in the works, so please come back! Thanks for stopping by...see you soon!~

Christmas In July Challenges

I had a couple of Christmas In July swap cards I needed to finish by months end, so today I decided to get them made and take advantage of a couple of Challenges. The image was a Dustin Pike freebie...yes, I bought every one of his designs, but I wanted to use Santa....LOL! Be sure to hop over and see his latest Christmas release, they are adorable!

The first challenge I planned this card for was Cute Card Thursday, which was to make a Christmas Card. Then I came across a great sketch with a spin at The Sweet Stop this morning, and it was also to make a Christmas card, so I HAD to use it! The picture isn't the greatest in the overhead light, so I apologize. I love the sketch at will use it again I am sure!

I have a couple other challenges in the works, so I will be back soon! Have a Fabby evening!

FINALLY

Wow it is sure nice to be back to creating! I have NO idea what has been up with me...the desire is there, but the ideas have been NIL!

I was determined to finish something lastnight before I went to bed, and this is what I finished. Over the weekend, I bought the Dustin Pike Mega Deal which included all 118 of his released digistamps. They are all just adorable! I have a friend in Virginia who just ADORES monkeys, and her puter died not too long ago, so I thought this would be perfect for her! Isn't that "Banana" computer too cool? ( as opposed to an Apple) I had a totally different idea for the layout, but when I Coluzzled the image, I slipped and totally messed it up! I was devastated~

I decided to just cut him out and mount him, and I am glad I did as it gave some dimension. I didn't have any cardstock that was the exact color of the banana, so I made some with the same color yellow watercolor on white CS. I was thrilled it worked. Since my friend, Cindy, challenged me to try the Polished Stone Technique, I am just in love with the look, so I did it for this card.

I wanna play with Magnolias today, or maybe some Sarah Kays I just got...or maybe the Inky Impressions stamp I got yesterday....Anyway, I will be back later with something else....

Have a Wonderful Wednesday and thanks so much for stopping by!

Yay, I got another one done...I almost forgot to post it...LOL! I have just had so much fun with my new little Tilda's. This gal is Farmer Tilda, and she is my only one that is sitting. I hand drew the swing she is sitting on, since I have none of the Magnolia Accessories-yet. I colored Tilda with watercolor pencils and an aquabrush, then cut her out. After drawing the swing, I colored it with watercolors and cut it out with Nesties. I used a glue runner to adhere Tilda to the scallopped circle and then mounted them all to the BG. I finished it off with corner punches and the flowers. Simple, but effective. I used the sketch at Delightful Sketches and really like it!
This card qualifies for the Pink Elephant Challenge, which is to use Red and 2 Blues, andalso qualifies for the Stamp With Fun challenge which was to use shapes and/or punches. Be sure to check them out!

I hope everyone has had a blessed day! I will see you soon!

Tilda #2 for Tuesday...LOL

Yup, I got a second one made today....in between making lunch, doing laundry, watching the Michael Jackson Memorial, taking my daughter driving, and making dinner! I had a BUNCH of challenges in this little Tilda Card. It all started with the Sketch Saturday sketch and my sweet Tilda. First I watercolored her, and did her flower halo in glitter gel pens. I couldn't get the three flowers above the sentiment to look right, so I am sorry, I only used one. Is that creative license? LOL

This card also qualifies for other challenges. Just Magnolia required the use of a charm... got it. Charisma Cards wanted buttons...they are there. Spoonful of Sugar required hearts...got LOTS of those! Creative Card Crew asked for ribbon...got those. The Next Level, which wanted the use of buttons and bows...check! And lastly, ( though I am sure there are others out there I don't know about) Pile It On which wanted the use of at least 3 different embellishments...ribbon, brad, buttons, charm...got those. I just took this picture, and I think it looks a little dark, so I will try to get a better one in the morning. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Rubber hugs,

Julie

I Got My Magnolias...YAY!!

I got my order from Simon Says Stamp lastnight, and got to play! This is Daisy Tilda..isn't she adorable? Ok they are ALL adorable...LOL! I did her up as a gatefold card, which is a new one for me. She is colored with watercolor pencils and AquaPen, and her little wings are glittered. I cut her out and matted her using my Nesties, and the BG paper is some from my stash. The sentiment is by SU and the flowers are Primas.
I have more to play with, so I am off to find some challenges to do! Have a wonderful day, and I will see you later... Thanks for stopping by!

I Disappeared..

But now I am back! Friday night, I did a Sketch Challenge I found online, and OMGoodness, it was HORRENDOUS! I was so distraught ( OK here comes the drama) that I couldn't bring myself to even go to the stamping table. I know, sounds corny, but it is true! My poor friend, Cindy, had to deal with my whining....she is a saint!
Anyway, she challenged me to try the Polished Stone Technique since I had never done it, and voila, my Mojo has returned! Thank you, Cindy!
This card is the result~ I used YoYo Yellow and Positively Pink re-inkers to do the Polished Stone. I totally love how it came out! Then I stamped Upsy Daisey in Marveous Magenta ( I know that sounds gross) and embossed it. Next time, I am NOT embossing...I think it will look better. then I just layered with White and Positively Pink on a YoYo Yellow card base.
I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! I have a few more ideas in my head, so I will be posting again tomorrow, I am sure! Thanks for stopping by...

ICS #23 And Digital Tuesday Challenge

I just LOVE this little guy by Justin Pike! Actually, I think I love all his little guys...LOL! I am thrilled to get to use him for this weeks Inspirational Card Sketch! He ALSO qualifies for the challenge at Digital Tuesday, which is to use a SUMMER theme! ( AND the sponsor just happens to be JUSTIN)
I have had this piece of PP for a LONG time, and was dying to use it. Sorry, I have NO IDEA who makes it, there was no signature on the back, but I know I got it in Iowa at JoAnn's.
This card is a little odd sized...it is 6 1/4 X 4 1/2...the size of the new envys I got. I was happy to make it a little larger, as the image fit perfectly that way. Mr. Teddy is colored with Watercolor Pencils and Crayons and the sentiment is computer generated. I cut some of the underwater goodies out of the PP to use as embellishments, and I like how they look overall. When I got him all together, something was missing, so I added the paper piercing around the main panel and that was what was needed. This was a fun sketch...be sure to go check it out and play along!
Thanks for stopping by today...have a GLORIOUS Wednesday!

Julie
